In 2008, Groupe Beneteau openly expressed their ambition to become the largest boatbuilder in the world—and the only path was to domination was entering the powerboat arena. The name already owned was chosen for the new range: Monte Carlo Yachts. J&J was happy to assist.

The decisions was made to build the yachts in Italy, and to marry the Italian design with Beneteau’s unbeatable industrial production efficiency. J&J was given the concept, naval architecture and production engineering, and famous mega-yacht designers Nuvolari - Lenard were assigned for exterior and interior design. Collaboration went smoothly, since Dan Lenard came from Ljubljana, and started his career in our studio. The team was later joined by Carla Demaria and her production team of Azimut-Bennetti pedigree.

The range was started with a 76 footer, and was later developed into yachts between 60 and 105 feet. The yacht was developed into a new breed of modern classics with a traditional sports fishing sheer line. The interior was light and spacious, allowing for easy communication; the deck featured a Portuguese bridge and a fully-arranged foredeck; and the extensively tank tested hull was fast and seaworthy. The production process was new and very innovative: building the boat outside the boat, and shortening the production time to less than a month. 

Monte Carlo Yachts 76 was a sensation when she was launched. She was a timeless beauty, practical and competitive in all areas, and was highly acclaimed. She won seven awards in many parts of the world. 

For years, the Monte Carlo Yachts 76 was the bestselling yacht in the Monte Carlo Yacht line and built a solid base for the new range. And Group Beneteau exceeded the sailboat sales by power ranges in 2012 and reached the status of largest boatbuilder on the planet.
