Heart of the market

In 1994, the Mediterranean market began to grow again after the long Gulf War crisis, and the most-wanted sailboats were those with three cabins. Bavaria understood that their main strength was in production efficiency—creating value.

As Winfred Herrmann said, “I want to go for the heart of the market!” With that in mind, J&J designed the Bavaria 35 Holiday, a relatively small boat with hull length of just 10,65 m, but whose interior volume was facilitated by a generous (for that time) beam and freeboard.

With her balanced lines, the Bavaria 35 Holiday was simple to sail and maneuver. She was also fast also when motoring (that is, fast for the calm summers of the Mediterranean)—and easy to build in numbers. As Bavaria’s bestseller for years, the Bavaria 35 Holiday helped the yard to create and develop the world’s most efficient production process. Equally loved by the owners (typically for family use), and the charter fleets (becoming the most popular 3 cabin charter boat in the Mediterranean) the 35 H sold over 2000 units.

She is possibly the most popular of all our sailboat designs.
